Born in Peru, Manola
Azzariti starts her creative process with studies of Interiors Design in
Italy’s Hotech Institute, Rome, followed by a degree in the plastic arts
and sculpture at the “Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma”.
After working several years as an independent graphic
artist in Rome, she decides to travel to the Far East, to Bangalore, India,
where she investigates Vedanta – Yoga philosophy.
In 1978 she returns to Lima, Peru, where she picks up
on graphic design, working as head of the advertisement department in Laboratorios
Farmindustria. She then teaches art and sculpture – ceramics at the Leonardo
Da Vinci School, and as a professor at the Pontificia Universidad
Católica del Peru in Lima.
Between 1984 and 1994, she works in her own studio
where she produces artistic and utilitarian ceramics. In these ten years, she
organizes five personal painting and ceramic sculpture exhibitions and
participates in various collective exhibitions in Lima. She is invited to
participate in the “Bienal Barro de America” in Caracas, Venezuela, and
in the “III Encuentro Latinoamericano de Cerámica Artística y Artesanal"
in Florianopolis, Brasil.
Manola Azzariti is founder and director of "Religare",
a non-governmental organization dedicated to the promotion and propagation of
native art and culture through selected educational programs of ecological
protection projects. She works with native communities in the Amazon, having
set up several exhibitions of native art in different cities of Peru in the
course of 1995.
Also in 1995, she makes contact with "Neijing
School", an investigation center for traditional Chinese medicine, and
spends nine years (1995-2004) learning and practicing this activity in Lima and
in Spain. Meanwhile, as a multimedia artist she complements herself by singing
and playing drums with various artists.
In 2003, Gema Productions S.A.C. starts its
activities, which have continued up to now, with Manola Azzariti as its founder
and General Manager. Gema Productions opens a multimedia studio where she works
as a team with Gennadiy Vishegorodtsev, Russian musician and producer, in
several music and visual projection projects of her own and of others.
In 2005, she takes up the plastic arts again, among her
other activities. Now strengthened with her other talents, she is thriving to
become a complete multimedia artist.
